My Stay at the Union Station Hotel in Nashville

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the historic Union Station Hotel in Nashville while in town for a girl’s trip.  All I can say is wow!  From the location and decor to the amenities and incredibly friendly staff, this hotel is a MUST for any trip to Nashville!

The hotel is actually a 19th Century train station that was converted to a luxury hotel through a multi-million dollar renovation.  You can read the full history here.  It’s actually fascinating for all of you history buffs out there!

Upon arriving to the hotel (a quick trip from the airport), I was greeted by the friendliest valet staff.  Walking through the doors, I literally had to stop walking to take it all in.  The lobby is a true treat for the eyes with its vaulted ceilings, stunning chandeliers, and wood-accented walls.  The fireplaces and luxurious furniture are so inviting.  Makes you want to grab a drink from the in-house bar and stay a while!

After getting checked in, we were taken to the beautiful Crescendo Suite.  Each of the 125 guest rooms in the Union Station Hotel are uniquely furnished.  The rooms provide not only all of the modern comforts & amenities you would expect in a luxury hotel, but they also have furnishings and decor that capture the essence of Nashville.  The unique artwork in each room adds such a great vibe!

The Crescendo Suite offers a gorgeous and modern sectional couch paired with tufted ottomans and rich wood coffee table.  A full-sized desk is available for any work space you might need.  Don’t forget the large-screen television and Keurig!  The Crescendo suite also featured two bathrooms, a plus for any hotel suite.  You truly feel like you are at your home away from home!

The spacious Crescendo Suite featured an extremely comfortable king-sized bed, another large-screen television, room-darkening curtains, and bonus features like a sliding bathroom door and gorgeous artwork.

After settling into our room, we headed down to Carter’s, the locally-inspired house restaurant.  I loved the vibe of this entire restaurant.  They offer full-service table dining but also have an area to just hang out with friends on the plush leather couches and chairs for drinks or appetizers.  The full bar features over 40 whiskeys and their own unique bottle of Jack.

The food was really, really good!  The Crispy Brussel Sprouts are not to be missed as a starter.  I thoroughly enjoyed the Union Station Caesar Salad and Steak Frites.  Be sure to bookend your dinner with their seasonal cobbler…it is out of this world!  See their full menu here.

When I travel, I always look for hotels that have great options for both dining and entertainment close by.  The Union Station Hotel in Nashville definitely offers both plus some awesome shopping, too.  The famous Music Row (the heart of Music City!) is just a short walk away.  Also nearby is The Gulch.  Described as Nashville’s premier urban neighborhood, this area is a must-see!  It has some of the best dining and shopping that Nashville has to offer.  Don’t forget to stop by Five Daughter’s Bakery for their mouthwatering 100-layer doughnuts.

The hotel’s website offers a more detailed listing of the local offerings.

When it comes to luxury hotels with a local flair, the Union Station Hotel did not disappoint.  I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend you put it at the top of your list for any trip to Nashville!  This gorgeous hotel is second-to-none and is definitely on my list to visit again.
